Tottenham place £57m price tag on midfielder amid growing interest

Tottenham Hotspur have slapped a £57 million valuation on Lucas Bergvall as Premier League interest in the Swedish midfielder intensifies, according to FotbollDirekt.
Aston Villa and Chelsea both tested Spurs’ resolve in January, but the club rebuffed every inquiry and remain determined to protect their investment in the 20-year-old. Bergvall, signed from Djurgårdens for £8.5 million in the summer of 2024 after Tottenham won the race ahead of Barcelona, has seen his game time shrink this season. Injuries and squad rotation have restricted him to only ten Premier League starts.
Despite the limited minutes, Spurs still view Bergvall as a high-ceiling prospect and will only entertain offers that exceed the £57 million mark. Liverpool have also placed the midfielder on their watch-list, adding another layer of competition for his signature.
Tottenham’s ability to keep hold of Bergvall may ultimately depend on their survival fight. Sunday’s derby defeat to Arsenal stretched their winless league run to nine matches and left them four points above the relegation zone. The club has not dropped out of the top flight since 1977.
