Bernal’s five shots, four on target, in the second leg against Atlético were not opportunism but muscle memory, the product of a lifetime spent timing late arrivals into the box.

The eruption is doubly emotional because it follows a cruel pause: an ACL and meniscus injury last season halted Bernal after only three La Liga appearances. Each current finish feels like continuity restored, the resumption of a story interrupted against Rayo Vallecano.
