Bryan Mbeumo injury scare after win over Tottenham Hotspur

Bryan Mbeumo’s latest strike helped Manchester United stretch their winning streak to four under Michael Carrick, but the 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur may have come at a cost. The Cameroon forward, United’s most influential attacking recruit this season, was seen limping as he left Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

Mbeumo, 26, opened the scoring with a cleverly worked corner routine, taking his tally to nine goals and one assist in 20 Premier League appearances. He also found the net in the Carabao Cup against Grimsby Town earlier in the campaign. Since returning from Africa Cup of Nations duty that caused him to miss five league matches and the FA Cup tie with Brighton, Mbeumo has led the line as the lone striker in Carrick’s new-look front three, ahead of summer signings Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko.

Footage shared on X by user @UtdKev08 shows Mbeumo hobbling through the stadium’s security area, carrying his kit bag and flanked by four companions. United have yet to issue an update on his condition, leaving supporters anxious ahead of Tuesday’s trip to West Ham United.

Mbeumo has already sat out six fixtures this term; any extended absence would test United’s retooled attack just as momentum is building. The club will hope the limp is precautionary rather than a serious setback.
