Barcelona already preparing for life after Lewandowski

Barcelona’s sporting hierarchy have begun sketching out a future without Robert Lewandowski, and the name at the top of their attacking shortlist is Hoffenheim’s 23-year-old forward Fisnik Asllani.

Club sources confirmed that the Catalans are actively exploring successors to the Polish striker, whose long-term future at Camp Nou is increasingly in doubt. Asllani has emerged as the preferred candidate after a season in which he has contributed goals and assists with consistent regularity, and coach Hansi Flick believes the Kosovo international’s technical qualities can be integrated seamlessly into the club’s possession-based system.

Asllani’s current contract contains a €30 million release clause, a valuation Barcelona consider financially viable even within their ongoing economic constraints. The player, for his part, is understood to be open to the move, a factor officials believe could accelerate negotiations.

Yet any approach will have to be decisive. Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich are all tracking Asllani’s progress, and Barcelona know hesitation could see the striker slip down another European corridor. With the summer window looming, the race to secure Lewandowski’s heir is already under way.
