Wrexham co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac have flown in to watch the club’s FA Cup fifth-round tie against Chelsea at the SToK Cae Ras on Saturday evening. The Hollywood pair, who purchased the then non-League Welsh side in February 2021, will witness the Championship outfit attempt to reach the quarter-finals for the first time since 1997 and only the fourth time in the club’s history.

Since taking control, Reynolds and Mac have presided over three consecutive promotions that have elevated Wrexham to the second tier of English football, where they currently sit sixth and in strong contention for a play-off place. Deadpool star Reynolds, momentarily speechless when the draw paired Wrexham with the Club World Cup holders, previously attended the dramatic penalty-shootout victory over Nottingham Forest in the third round.

Today’s fixture marks the first of at least two visits by the co-owners within a week; they are scheduled to provide live commentary for next Friday’s all-Wales Championship showdown with Swansea City, a match to be broadcast on Sky Sports in the United Kingdom and Paramount+ in the United States.
