Sir David Beckham has off-loaded his Miami penthouse for £21.3 million, banking a £4 million gain on the luxury residence he acquired six years ago. The 50-year-old former Manchester United and England midfielder bought the sky-high property in 2020 through Beckham Brand Limited for £17.1 million ($19.8 million).
The buyer, whose identity has not been disclosed, takes possession of a five-bedroom, multi-bathroom condominium that occupies the entire 59th floor of the One Thousand Museum, the 62-storey Zaha Hadid-designed tower that ranks among Miami’s tallest buildings. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame Atlantic Ocean views, while amenities include a two-storey fitness and wellness centre, an infinity pool and an in-house salon.
Beckham’s decision to sell comes as he continues to spend the majority of his time in the United States as co-owner of Major League Soccer franchise Inter Miami. The former midfielder played a central role in recruiting Lionel Messi to the club in the summer of 2023 and remains actively involved in day-to-day operations.
Despite the sale, the Beckham family’s footprint in south Florida remains substantial. According to the New York Post, which first reported the transaction, David and wife Victoria still retain a $72.25 million mansion in Miami Beach as well as a residence in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighbourhood.
The windfall from the penthouse deal adds to Beckham’s post-playing portfolio, which has expanded since he hung up his boots in 2013 following stints at Real Madrid, AC Milan, LA Galaxy and Paris Saint-Germain. Knighted in June 2025, Beckham continues to leverage his brand across fashion, sport and philanthropy while maintaining close ties to football through his ownership role and through son Romeo, who played for Brentford until September 2024.
