MSU Athletics Reveals its Hall of Fame Class of 2025

MSU Athletics today proudly unveiled its highly anticipated Hall of Fame Class of 2025, a distinguished group of former athletes and a revered coach whose indelible marks on the university’s storied sports history will now be enshrined forever. The announcement, met with widespread enthusiasm from the alumni community and current student-athletes alike, highlights the exceptional talent, dedication, and leadership that have defined MSU’s athletic programs over decades. The induction ceremony is slated for October 18, 2025, a centerpiece event during the university’s annual Homecoming weekend, promising a grand celebration of athletic excellence and enduring legacies.

Leading the charge into the prestigious hall is men’s basketball icon Marcus “The Maestro” Thorne, whose silky smooth play and clutch performances captivated fans throughout his illustrious career from 1998-2002. Thorne remains the school’s all-time leading scorer, a two-time All-American, and was instrumental in guiding the Spartans to two conference championships and an Elite Eight appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Joining him is Dr. Elena Rodriguez, a trailblazing force on the women’s soccer pitch from 2005-2009. Rodriguez, known for her prolific goal-scoring ability and relentless midfield presence, was not only a three-time All-Conference selection but also an Academic All-American, embodying the true spirit of a student-athlete.
