Luka Vuskovic has declared he will return to Tottenham Hotspur next summer, ending speculation over a permanent move away from the club after a standout loan spell with Hamburg.
The 17-year-old Croatian centre-back has been one of the revelations of the 2025-26 Bundesliga campaign, collecting the league’s Rookie of the Month award on four separate occasions. His commanding performances at the heart of Hamburg’s defence have attracted admiring glances from Bayern Munich and Barcelona, but Vuskovic insists his immediate future lies in north London.
“I have a contract there until 2030,” the teenager told Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. “After this season, I’ll be a Tottenham player again.”
Vuskovic’s impending return comes at a pivotal moment for Spurs. With lingering uncertainty over the long-term futures of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, the door could open for the youngster to stake an early claim for regular first-team minutes.
Yet the defender, aware of football’s unpredictability, refused to make bold promises. “In football, you never know,” he added. “It could happen next year, or in ten years. I don’t want to promise anyone anything.”
Tottenham will hope the maturity Vuskovic has shown in Germany translates seamlessly to the Premier League as they look to solidify a defensive unit that may soon require reinforcements.
