Hansi Flick will be blown away with what we offer him – Victor Font makes promise to Barcelona boss

With Barcelona’s presidential election drawing closer, candidate Victor Font has intensified his pitch to voters by issuing a bold guarantee to current head coach Hansi Flick. Speaking to Mundo Deportivo, Font pledged that the German coach will be “blown away” by the sporting project he intends to unveil in the coming days.

Font, who is mounting a fresh challenge against incumbent Joan Laporta, framed his proposal around the concept of institutional stability—an issue he claims has been missing under the current board. “Flick is asking for stability, and if he already likes what he has now, he’ll be blown away by what we’re going to present to him,” Font said.

The candidate argued that stability means “not improvising,” citing the club’s recent salary-cap gymnastics that saw veteran defender Iñigo Martínez leave, only for the board to approve the high-profile arrival of João Cancelo shortly afterward. Font vowed to end such reactive decision-making, promising a coherent long-term plan that would allow the coaching staff to build without constant squad overhauls.

Font also reiterated his intention, first signalled last week, to retain Flick should he win the presidency, while simultaneously replacing current sporting director Deco. The dual pledge is designed to reassure supporters that managerial continuity will be paired with a revamped technical structure.

As the campaign enters its decisive phase, Font’s latest remarks underline his strategy of contrasting his prospective stability with what he describes as Laporta’s short-term fixes. Whether voters—and Flick himself—are convinced will become clear when ballots are cast later this spring.
