Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi has reportedly agreed to join the Moroccan national team starting from next June, according to Moroccan outlet Almountakahb.
Born in France to Moroccan parents, the 18-year-old prodigy is eligible to represent both Les Bleus and the Lions of the Atlas. While he remains in France’s long-term plans for the post-2026 World Cup cycle, the gifted teenager is said to have committed his international future to Morocco.
The decision would represent a significant coup for the African vice-champions, who have made a habit of recruiting dual-national talents across Europe. Bouaddi, already regarded as one of the continent’s brightest prospects, has drawn admiring glances from Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.
This season the young midfielder has appeared in 29 matches across all competitions for Lille, registering one assist. If the switch is finalized, Morocco will hope his creative energy can reinforce a squad that continues to target major honours on the global stage.
