Clinton Township—Gracyn Carrier keeps raising her own standard. One night after becoming the first player in Chippewa Valley girls basketball history to reach 1,000 career points, the junior point guard poured in 30 more Friday, pacing the Big Reds to a 69-24 Macomb Area Conference Blue Division rout of visiting St. Clair Shores South Lake.
Carrier, already a college recruiting target in both basketball and ECNL soccer for Liverpool International Academy-Michigan, added three steals and two assists while shooting the Big Reds (7-8, 2-4 MAC Blue) to their second league win. Zae’na Thacker chipped in 12 points, two steals and two boards, while Nevaeh Robinson, Ava Sobh and Zora Hairston each tallied five. South Lake (2-9, 0-6), rebuilding after graduating more than half its roster, got six points from Leila Jones and five apiece from Matayla Hayes and Leah Holmes.
Marysville 55, Stevenson 14
Kendal Quain stole the show—and the ball—everywhere else. The Vikings’ guard scored 31 points, knocking down 13 of 14 free throws, and Marysville’s defense allowed only four second-half points in a 55-14 MAC Blue victory over Sterling Heights Stevenson. Harper Sharrow added eight points as Marysville improved to 8-5 overall and 4-1 in the division, setting up a Tuesday showdown with first-place Fraser. Daniella Tamou accounted for 10 of Stevenson’s 14 points.
Warren Lincoln 58, Clintondale 30
Sophomore Cherish Adams erupted for a season-best 32 points, keeping Lincoln (6-5, 5-1 MAC Bronze) within one game of division-leading Hazel Park. Clintondale fell to 1-10, 1-5.
Utica Eisenhower 72, Grosse Pointe South 41
Eisenhower sank six first-quarter triples and never looked back, opening a 34-7 lead after one and cruising 72-41 in MAC Red play. Madison Repicky posted 19 points, five rebounds and five assists, Janielle Turner hit four early threes on her way to 15 points and four steals, and Leah Poggoilo added 16 points and eight boards as the Eagles (12-2, 6-0) stretched their division lead to two games.
