Barcelona could have Marcus Rashford back in training within days, according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano. The England international, on loan from Manchester United, has sat out the last two matches with knee discomfort sustained in the league meeting with RCD Mallorca and is now targeting a return ahead of next week’s fixtures.
Rashford missed last Monday’s trip to Girona and was also unavailable for the Copa del Rey semi-final first-leg draw against Atlético Madrid. If the recovery timeline holds, he would avoid missing a third consecutive game, with Levante visiting the Estadi Olímpic this Sunday still likely to come too soon.
Since arriving in Catalonia, the 28-year-old has compiled 10 goals and 13 assists across all competitions, emerging as a key piece for Hansi Flick’s side. Barcelona officials have expressed satisfaction with his impact and remain eager to secure a permanent deal, although negotiations with Manchester United have hit an impasse. United are refusing to budge on the €30 million purchase clause inserted in the loan agreement, while Barça continue to explore the possibility of a reduced fee.
Rashford did not train last week as he worked to resolve the muscle issue, but Romano’s latest update offers optimism that the forward will rejoin the group shortly and be available for selection in the coming seven days.
