Andre’s late strike stuns Liverpool as Wolves record consecutive league victories

Molineux erupted in the dying moments on Tuesday night as Andre’s deflected drive sealed a dramatic 2-1 victory for Wolverhampton Wanderers over Liverpool, lifting the hosts off the foot of the Premier League table and confirming back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

Liverpool responded swiftly. Rio Ngumoha’s curling effort appeared destined for the bottom corner until Sa’s fingertip push diverted it onto the upright. The reprieve proved temporary: five minutes later Salah pounced on a loose ball to smash home an equaliser at the near post.

Jurgen Klopp’s side pressed for a winner and Virgil van Dijk looked certain to convert when unmarked at the far post, but the Dutch centre-back could only head straight at Sa.

Instead, it was Wolves who struck the decisive blow. Andre collected possession on the edge of the area and saw his shot take a wicked deflection, wrong-footing Alisson and nestling into the net to spark delirious scenes.
