2026 NFL Draft: Tennessee Titans could add elite weapon for Cam Ward

Nashville – One year after making Cam Ward the No. 1 overall selection, the Tennessee Titans appear poised to fast-track their franchise quarterback’s development with another premium pick.
In CBS Sports analyst Garrett Podell’s latest mock draft, the Titans use the fourth overall selection on Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love, a move that would give Ward one of college football’s most explosive play-makers. Love, widely regarded as a top-two prospect in the 2026 class, rushed for a career-best 1,372 yards and 18 touchdowns last season while averaging 6.9 yards per carry.
The projected pairing comes after an aggressive off-season in which Tennessee hired Brian Daboll as offensive coordinator, signed former Giants wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson, and added tight end Daniel Bellinger. The front office also invested $270.715 million in the first two days of free agency to fortify both sides of the ball, leaving the roster flexible enough to draft for value rather than need.
With Kansas City—originally slated to pick ninth—signing Kenneth Walker III, the path cleared for the Titans to secure Love as the offensive centerpiece alongside Ward. Podell notes that Tennessee’s retooled defensive line removes the pressure to chase an edge rusher at the top of the draft, allowing the club to focus on offensive firepower.
Should the scenario hold on draft night, the Titans would exit the first round with a potential franchise-altering backfield tandem designed to elevate Ward and accelerate the team’s climb in the AFC South.
