Real Madrid announce squad for La Liga match against Real Sociedad

Madrid—Real Madrid released their official 24-man squad list on Friday ahead of Saturday’s La Liga showdown with Real Sociedad at the Reale Arena.

Goalkeepers Thibaut Courtois, Andriy Lunin and academy product Sergio Mestre will travel to San Sebastián, while the defensive contingent includes Dani Carvajal, David Alaba, new signing Trent, academy defender Asencio, Á. Carreras, Fran García, Antonio Rüdiger and Ferland Mendy. Mendy’s return adds experience to the back line, and club sources indicate Rüdiger could be in line for minutes after recent fitness concerns.

The midfield engine room will be anchored by Camavinga, Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouameni, with creative support from summer arrival Arda Güler, Dani Ceballos and academy pair Cestero and Palacios.

In attack, Carlo Ancelotti can call upon Vinícius Júnior, Kylian Mbappé, Gonzalo, Brahim Díaz and teenage sensation Mastantuono. Mbappé and Asencio had sat out a training session earlier in the week but have been passed fit and feature prominently in the travelling party.

Saturday’s fixture will be broadcast live on DAZN La Liga in Spain and ESPN Deportes in the United States.
