Liverpool lining up incredible €65m transfer

Liverpool have entered the race to sign Eintracht Frankfurt’s dynamic German international Nathaniel Brown, according to a report in German outlet Bild. The 21-year-old’s explosive form over the past two seasons has caught the eye of Anfield scouts, who see him as a potential solution to head coach Arne Slot’s long-standing lack of trusted rotation options at full-back.

Brown’s game is built on pace and relentless forward thrusts. He regularly arrives in the final third to create chances and has become one of the Bundesliga’s most productive defenders in attacking transitions. Observers note similarities with Liverpool’s existing left-back Milos Kerkez: both are the same age group—Kerkez is only a few months younger—and offer energy down the flank. Yet their profiles diverge in key areas. Kerkez, signed from the Premier League, is judged the superior one-v-one defender and currently ahead in overall development, while Brown’s ceiling going forward may be even higher.

Bringing Brown to Merseyside would give Slot the genuine competition and rotation he has so far been unable—or unwilling—to deploy. Standing between Liverpool and the deal is an eye-watering €65 million valuation set by Frankfurt.
