Liverpool and Arsenal keeping tabs on Bayern Munich youngster Lennart Karl

Liverpool and Arsenal have joined a growing queue of elite European clubs monitoring Bayern Munich’s 18-year-old midfielder Lennart Karl, according to reports from Germany.
The Premier League pair have recalibrated their recruitment to prioritise high-upside teenagers, a shift underlined in January when Liverpool spent £60 million on 20-year-old Jeremy Doku while simultaneously bolstering their academy ranks. Arsenal, meanwhile, have already raided Bayern once this summer, luring Joshua Kimmich to north London and are now casting an eye toward the next emerging talent off the Bavarian production line.
Speaking to Sky Germany, Karl’s agent Kevin Räber declined to be drawn on specific interest, saying only that “many clubs” are circling the midfielder. TeamTalk journalist Graeme Bailey confirms that Liverpool and Arsenal are among those tracking Karl most intently, with English quartet Chelsea and Manchester City also named alongside La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona and Ligue 1 powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain.
Bayern hold a strong negotiating position: Karl’s current deal runs until 2028 and club officials have already opened talks over a new four-year extension designed to ward off suitors. Should negotiations stall, the Bundesliga champions could still command a sizeable fee for a teenager already praised by senior figures within the club.
Thomas Muller offered a glowing assessment late last year, highlighting the youngster’s attacking instincts. “His shooting technique is certainly exceptional. He has very good finishing,” Muller noted. “And that’s already an excellent asset to have because if you play in attack for FC Bayern and you’re energetic and agile, you’ll constantly find yourself in scoring positions.”
With Bayern eager to lock down another home-grown prospect and Europe’s heavyweights poised to pounce, the battle for Lennart Karl’s signature is only just beginning.
