Hansi Flick Calm Over Lewandowski and Torres Goal Drought

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick insists he is not losing sleep over the recent barren run of strikers Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres, stressing that every forward endures periods when the net refuses to bulge.

Speaking ahead of Sunday’s La Liga meeting with Sevilla, Flick acknowledged that both players have seen their scoring touch and overall performance dip during a congested 11-day stretch featuring four matches. Yet the German tactician remains convinced the goals will return.

“No. These things happen,” Flick told reporters on Saturday. “Now is a good time for them [Lewy and Torres] to improve. From what I’ve seen in training, we’re on the right track.”

The coach highlighted mitigating factors behind the slump, noting limited rotation options as some squad members have only recently regained fitness. “We have played four games in the last 11 days and the options to make changes are limited. In addition, some players returned from injury. We need a little more time,” he explained.

Flick praised the wider group for maintaining morale, singling out Marc Bernal, Pedri, Raphinha and new signing Marcus Rashford for their positive progress. “The attitude of the team has been very good, none of the last games have been easy. They have been very intense matches. We also have very young players who are improving,” he added.

While the concurrent struggles of Lewandowski and Torres are ill-timed with crucial points on the line, Flick struck a philosophical tone, reminding observers that even elite marksmen are prone to scoreless sequences. The hope inside the club is that the duo rediscover their finishing touch as early as Sunday’s encounter at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán.
