Bayern Munich News: Newcastle United’s Nick Woltemade not thinking of FC Bayern at the moment

Newcastle United striker Nick Woltemade has distanced himself from fresh speculation linking him with a summer switch to Bayern Munich, insisting his sole focus is on proving himself in the Premier League and securing a place in Germany’s World Cup squad, sources close to the player have confirmed.
Whispers that the Bavarians were readying a blockbuster €79 million (£69 m) bid spread rapidly across European outlets earlier this month, yet Magpies officials have never slapped a fixed valuation on the 24-year-old, and privately regard the numbers circulated as “inaccurate and unhelpful.”
While Newcastle would like to recoup the fee they paid VfB Stuttgart last summer should they ever entertain offers, the club’s stance is straightforward: Woltemade is not for sale. The forward himself is aligned with that position. Aware that an early exit could be interpreted as an admission he has failed on Tyneside, he is determined to earn regular minutes under Eddie Howe, showcase his development and keep alive his ambition of representing Germany on the biggest stage in 2026.
Longer term, those close to Woltemade acknowledge a potential step up to a higher-placed Premier League side or a return to the Bundesliga could appeal, and Bayern Munich remain on his personal radar. For now, however, any talk of swapping St James’ Park for the Allianz Arena is parked.
The situation mirrors Bayern’s wider transfer posture. Club bosses have already ruled out a move for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, irritated by suggestions they are lining up the Nigerian as a successor to Harry Kane. Negotiations over a contract extension for the England captain are the priority, and Bayern are adamant they will not be drawn into public debate over strikers they “neither need nor want.”
Elsewhere, Borussia Dortmund are braced for summer exits on multiple fronts. Full-back Julian Ryerson, one of BVB’s standout performers this term, is available for around €30 million, with Barcelona, Newcastle and Manchester United monitoring developments. Central defender Niklas Süle and midfielder Salih Özcan will leave at season’s end after agreeing not to renew deals, while United anticipate banking €80 million from permanent transfers of loan stars Rasmus Højlund—Napoli are set to trigger a €44 million clause—and Marcus Rashford.
Teenage centre-back Luka Vušković, currently impressing at Hamburg on loan from Tottenham, has also emerged as a defensive target for Barcelona, though the Croatian youngster’s affinity for German football could complicate any Camp Nou approach.
For Woltemade, the roadmap is clear: goals and gametime in black-and-white stripes first; everything else, including the lure of Bayern Munich, can wait.
